sudden gust –

the seagull scudding

backwards

small boat on the loch,

far off hills faintly

blue through mist

a single petal falls,

touches the tamboura string –

a tiny pang

suddenly shivering

my clothes are too thin –

holds his arms out,

shows off his new coat

someone has given

a warm scarf

to the scarecrow

the dark field

puddles reflect back

the last light

crossing the bridge –

the other side

is lost in mist
